Breathe On Purpose

When stress rises, do not fight it head-on right away; slow your body first. Take two minutes to breathe slowly, relax your shoulders and jaw, and plant your feet on the floor.

When stress gets loud, do not argue with it first. Slow it down.

Set a timer for two minutes. Inhale through your nose for 4. Exhale for 6. Drop your shoulders. Unclench your jaw. Put both feet on the floor.

Biblical anchors: Psalm 46:10; John 14:27.

Commentary: Stillness in Scripture is not pretending life is easy. It is refusing to let fear be your lord. Calm is not denial; it is a doorway back to wisdom.

Try this breath prayer:
“Inhale: Lord, You are near.
Exhale: I will not be ruled by fear.”

Small practices matter. Peace usually grows through repetition, not hype.
