Anxiety does not mean you have failed God. It means you are human, carrying something heavy.
Scripture never treats fear, grief, or distress as things we should simply “snap out of.” David cried out in anguish. Elijah was exhausted and afraid. Jesus Himself was “deeply distressed and troubled” in Gethsemane.
The biblical invitation is not shame. It is surrender.
Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us to bring our anxieties to God with prayer, petition, and thanksgiving. That does not mean we pretend our worries are small. It means we bring them honestly before the One who is strong enough to hold them.
Mental health care and faith are not enemies. Counseling, wise support, rest, prayer, Scripture, and community can all be part of God’s gracious care.
You are not weak for needing help. You are wise for not carrying it alone.
